     2010 ELECTIONS

2010 elections are just around the corner. Our Secretary of State (Chris Nelson) has a great web site at http://www.sdsos.gov with complete information regarding the upcoming elections including offices to be filled in the 2010 election. Of all the offices and positions to be filled one of the most important but most overlooked is that of Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman. Few of the available precincts have anyone involved and it is easy to get involved. If you are interested please follow these few easy steps.

Each Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman

• Must file a statement with County Auditor by March 30
• If more than one files, they go to the primary election
• If no one files, can be appointed by the county central committee

This is for a 2 year term which does not carry over

As a precinct Committeewoman or Committeeman you are eligible

• To be a State Convention Delegate
• Responsible for voter registration and campaign activity in your precinct
• Member of County Central Committee
• Backbone of the County Party Organization
